About the Opportunity

Zak's Custom Cabinets is looking for a full-time Shop Foreman based in Hague, SK. Our work days are Monday-Thursday, with some work on Fridays as needed.

In this role, you will lead a team of employees in Zak’s Custom Cabinetry Division, overseeing the production of high-quality, custom cabinetry and furniture for kitchens, builders, and developers. You will play a key role in optimizing workflows, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining quality while coordinating with installers and subcontractors. This position requires hands-on technical expertise and leadership in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and supervising a diverse team in the cabinet shop
  • Reviewing and optimizing drawings before production
  • Operating CNC machines, cutting materials, assembling, and finishing cabinetry
  • Managing workflow and identifying efficiencies in production processes
  • Overseeing purchasing and ordering of materials
  • Coordinating with installers and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution
  • Ensuring cabinetry is built to high standards while troubleshooting technical challenges
  • Assisting with deliveries and ensuring proper handling of finished products
  • Implementing innovative construction techniques to improve quality and efficiency
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment
  • Supporting team members with training and hands-on problem-solving
  • Adapting to a fast-paced schedule, ensuring deadlines are met

About You

To qualify, you will need 3+ years of experience in the cabinet shop industry, with hands-on experience in manufacturing, installing, or designing cabinetry. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle will also be essential. 

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Journeyman Carpentry certification is an asset
  • Direct experience working in a cabinet shop environment
  • Expertise in custom cabinetry construction and installation
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machines and other woodworking equipment
  • Strong technical ability to read and optimize drawings for production
  • Experience in workflow optimization and efficiency improvements
